The MAC encourages and supports the provision of high quality Montessori programmes. The MAC is delighted to support the IMC’s Accreditation and Seal of Recognition Programmes. All educational institutions have the opportunity to seek recognition and accreditation at an international level. This is an area that the MAC has been pursuing for many years and we are pleased to now be able to offer these programmes.

The IMC Accreditation is an optional programme of self and external peer evaluation, which any MAC member educational institution may pursue. The Montessori Australia Council will assist in the implementation of the IMC School Accreditation Programme in Australia by arranging to offer workshops for those interested in seeking accreditation, mentorship and guidance within Australia for schools going through the process.   

The Seal of Recognition Programme.
The IMC Seal of Recognition Programme offers schools a less extensive and less expensive method of providing prospective parents and the general public with assurance that they offer educational programs that are effective and consistent with the essential characteristics of Montessori best practice at each age level offered. In addition, these schools follow the Code of Ethics of the International Montessori Council. It anticipates a shorter period of self-study and less intensive one-day on-site visit by a small IMC validating team. The Seal of Recognition Program is not an accreditation, but rather recognition that the school meets certain specific standards associated with best practice in Montessori education
